Medical/Dental Programs
NCI offers comprehensive medical plan options, which provide employees and their covered dependents with major medical inpatient and outpatient services, prescription drugs, vision, and wellness care. Eligible employees may choose among a consumer-driven Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), an Open Access Plan (OAP), similar in design to a PPO plan, and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) option for medical coverage. A Dental PPO plan is also available to meet our employees’ dental needs.
Employees have the option of selecting employee only, employee plus one dependent, or family coverage for both medical and dental coverage. The employee and NCI share the cost of coverage. Your cost for coverage is paid on a pre-tax basis, reducing your taxable income.
Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
NCI provides a life/AD&D insurance benefit equal to one times an employee's basic annual salary or the option of electing a flat $50,000 in insurance coverage. For coverage above the company-provided limits, employees may purchase supplemental insurance coverage for themselves and their family members.
Flexible Spending Accounts
NCI offers Flexible Spending Accounts for qualifying healthcare, dependent daycare, parking, and transportation expenses. Flexible Spending Accounts provide employees with a way to pay for certain expenses with tax-free dollars.
Disability Programs
Short term disability benefits begin on 15th day of disability through day 90. Employees pay a small premium for short term disability so that any benefit payout resulting from disability will be non-taxable.
Long term disability benefits begin the 91st day of disability and continue through the end of the disability or age 65, whichever occurs first. LTD is provided to employees at no cost.
401(k) Profit Sharing Plan
Full-time and regular part-time employees are eligible to enroll in the NCI 401(k) Plan. Employees may elect to contribute, on a pre-tax basis, up to 50% (subject to IRS restrictions) of their base salary. NCI will, in turn, contribute 50 cents for each dollar contributed by the employee, up to the first 5% of their contribution. A four-year vesting schedule applies to the employer match. Employees age 50 and over are eligible to participate in a catch-up provision, whereby they may contribute additional pre-tax dollars to their 401(k) account. The Plan is comprised of 18 different investment vehicles, including 15 mutual funds or 3 different portfolio options.
Leave Programs
NCI employees begin accruing vacation and sick leave immediately upon hire. In addition, NCI celebrates ten Federal holidays.
Other NCI leave programs include Bereavement, Jury Duty and Military Leave.
Professional Development Program
NCI provides employees many opportunities to receive technical and job-related training through our Professional Development Program. The program includes educational assistance and reimbursement programs for professional/technical society memberships and various seminar and training programs. The NCI University provides web-enabled IT, project management, and other training programs, as well as an extensive technical library.
